There’s an old African proverb that says: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, walk with others.”
At the Malian American Chamber of Commerce (MACC), we don’t just quote this proverb — we live it every single day.
When we founded MACC in 2017 in Philadelphia, we made a deliberate choice. We refused to become “just another organization” where members pay dues, show up once, and then feel like they’re working out alone in a crowded gym. You know the feeling: everyone is there, but no one is truly walking with you. You’re left wondering if you’re “doing enough” to belong.
That is not who we are.
At MACC, we believe real progress happens when we walk together.
Whether you are a recent diaspora professional trying to build your first business, an established entrepreneur looking to export Mali-sourced goods under AGOA, a lawyer or accountant wanting to support fellow members, or a U.S. company exploring opportunities in Mali — you are not alone here.
We have intentionally built systems and programs so that every member can contribute, grow, and succeed together:
- Our Diaspora Investment Circle pools capital and expertise so small investments become meaningful projects in Mali.
- Our Entrepreneur and Professional Councils rotate monthly across Philadelphia, New York, and Washington DC — creating regular spaces where ideas turn into partnerships.
- Our Annual Trade Mission to Bamako and MACC Academy give you direct access to government officials, buyers, and mentors — not as a solo traveler, but as part of a supported delegation.
- Our Bilateral Investment Committee reviews every opportunity with care so no one makes a decision in isolation.
This is not networking for the sake of collecting badges. This is collaboration with purpose.
We want every member — whether you attend every event or only one per quarter — to feel genuinely supported. You don’t have to be “the most active” to belong. You simply have to show up as you are. The Chamber exists to connect you with the right people, the right knowledge, and the right opportunities at the right time.
Because when we walk together, we don’t just move faster — we move farther than any of us could alone.
We are building something bigger than individual success stories. We are building a lasting bridge between Mali and the United States — one relationship, one investment, one shared opportunity at a time.
If this resonates with you, we invite you to walk with us.
Join the Malian American Chamber of Commerce today. Whether you start as a Community member or jump straight into the Entrepreneur tier, you will find a seat at the table — not just a name on a list.
